The book was a real inspiration because it not only documents Mark Spitz' younger days of swimming stardom, but it also points out his weaknesses and how he achieved those seven gold medals in 1972. Sherm Chavoor is the true star of the book and his coaching methods seem to really work with his swimmers. I also enjoyed reading about two other great swimmers: Debbie Meyer and Mike Burton.
