  • LDS Fiction but not preachy. I enjoyed both the story line and the characters. With the title Love's Deception I was a little concerned with what the "deception" might be because I hate it when characters I love end up not being what I think. Thankfully the deceptions in this story were not one that lessened my love for these characters. Content: Clean (there is implied content as one of the characters is not lds but there are no details)

  • This is a very sweet story of pain and loss and hope and happily ever after. The emotional stakes soar to a painful high for the female protagonist, Catherine Lewis (a.k.a. Cat). Her husband died in a roadside bomb in Baghdad shortly before their first child was born and now her mother has cancer. Despite this, Cat holds to her values of hope and heaven. She works hard to make her son happy and care for her sick mother. Basically, she's a very likable character!Handsome Ty Bradford--the farmer-- [...]

  • This was a clean, sweet romance. I struggle reading romance because I am not acquainted with very many men who speak romantically and so it seems very fictional. The storyline was full of complications and had a conversion story within. It reminded me in some ways of my sister and her husbands beginning. Kelly Nelson did an excellent job at keeping the story interesting and page turning. It is an LDS romance story.

  • This was a cute love story! I liked that life wasn't always easy for either of the main characters. Cat because of her circumstances and Ty because of some of the choices he had already made in his life. Cat was a great character. She lost her husband to a roadside bomb before their little one was born and she's been raising Danny with the help of her mom ever since. But now her mom has cancer and her future's really uncertain. I loved the scene where Cat's tire blows out and Ty helps her. It ma [...]

  • I adore these characters and although the storyline was somewhat predictable, I thoroughly enjoyed it. I finished feeling uplifted and hopeful, and I'm really glad I read it.

  • I really enjoyed this story of loss, love, misunderstanding, hope and forgiveness. I really liked Cat and her need to take care of her son and mother. She was an amazing worker and had a fun, stubborn streak to her. Cat had a lot on her plate with her mother being so ill, being a single mom, and handling a previous deception from her husband that had passed away. Ty definitely had his work cut out for him when it came to winning her heart. Sally especially was a favorite character of mine. She h [...]

  • LDS fiction.I bought this Kindle book and read it in an attempt to find a new-to-me author's books to read and I was well repaid for my money and time. I thought this story was just great. I think the author writes her stories well. I particularly liked the character of Ty and his interaction with Danny. Just a P.S. here. I would have to say that this book is clearly geared toward an LDS audience.

  • This book is one of the best books I've read in years. I fell in love with both Ty and Cat and honestly wanted this story to go on for another 200 pages. I couldn't put it down and stayed up way past my bedtime 2 nights in row to finish it. I hope Kelly Nelson writes more novels just like this one.

  • Quick, light, page turner, fun read! Cat becomes a widow and a single mom when her husband does in Baghdad and she finds out she's pregnant. She loves horses and lives with her mom who is fighting cancer. That is what her life entails. Will she let Ty in even though he's not a member, but makes her and her son happy? What will happen when Ty's CA life encroaches on his Oregon farmer life?

  • I'm not crazy about the title of the book, since it seems super cheesy. But I did like the story much more than I thought I would! Deceipt, love, romance, all play a part in this nice little novel.

  • LOVED THIS BOOK! I love the story involved with the church. That takes courage and gives me courage for mine. Beautiful! I'm curious if this is conceived from a true story somehow. Awesome! I am looking up more from Kelly Nelson.

  • Really enjoyed it!This is a new author for me, I enjoyed the pace this story unfolded at. The characters were well defined. The romance was filled with chemistry. The LDS conversion was well written.

  • Great bookSuch a heartwarming story.I loved it. It is so nice to read a sweet love story that is clean and has great morals

  • Despite the ick title and somewhat cheesy cover, the book was pretty good. Again, nothing special and nothing to write home about, but I liked it. Quick and light.
